Opening Times

The Minster is open daily for early services from 7.00am and usually closes at 6.30pm

For sightseeing in the Minster

Mon - Sat: 9.00am (9.30am November- March) - last entry 5.00pm Sunday: 12.00noon - 3.45pm

No sightseeing on Good Friday and Easter Sunday or on Sundays before 12.00noon

The Undercroft, Treasury and Crypt

Mon - Sat: 9.30am (Sunday 12.00noon) - last entry 5.00pm (5.30pm July & August)

Closed: 24 & 25 December, Good Friday and Easter Sunday

The Tower

Mon - Sat: first trip 10.00am (Sunday 12.00noon) - last trip 5.00pm (6.00pm July & August; Nov - March 30 mins before dusk)

Please Note:

Closed: 24 & 25 December, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and in extreme weather conditions. No children under 8. Children under 16 must be accompanied.

Admission Charges apply for sightseeing in the Minster, the Undercroft and the Tower

Guided tours are offered free of charge (Mon - Sat) by our team of voluntary guides (subject to availability)

The Minster closes to visitors at 6.30pm

Although we make every effort to ensure that these details are correct, from time to time, major services or other circumstances may mean that we have to close the Minster for sightseeing or change our opening times at short notice. Please check in advance of your visit to avoid disappointment.
