I visited the glorious Minster in May 2001. On the day of my visit, after taking a tour, I was greeted with the very big smile of one of the Vicars/clergymen. He invited me to the 5 PM service; I declined, saying I wasn't dressed properly and pointed to my jeans. He laughed and said, "Well, look at me; I'm wearing a dress!" We both laughed out loud. Later as I was walking up high street to my hotel, a car honked nearby. Being in a foreign city there was no cause to think it was directed at me, but I looked up, and there was my clergyman! He was grinning as big as possible and waved enthusiastically as he drove past. I wish I had his name, and could convey how much he will always be a special part of my visit.
