I lived in York from 1987 to 2003 and was a guide in York Minster from 1989 until I moved to Brighton for health reasons. I loved every minute of guiding and I think most of the people I took round the Minster enjoyed themselves and left, knowing that they had learned more of this great cathedral. I was also a volunteer at York Minster Library from 1992 and this was work I thoroughly enjoyed doing including the little bit of guiding I undertook there as well.
