Sunday School in the Zouche Chapel
During the 10 am Eucharist the Sunday School meets in the Zouche Chapel for around 30 minutes. The children and leaders leave the service during the second hymn and return in time for the distribution of Communion and rejoin the main service then. The Sunday School follows a programme which looks at the same themes as the main service and generally includes some singing, some craft activity and some teaching and prayer. We also have activities: parties, picnics and special services (such as Christingle, Christmas Eve Nativity tableau and Harvest) as well as opportunities for parents to meet.
If you would like more information about the Sunday School or would like to talk about helping please contact Maggie Draper at maggie.draper@btinternet.com .
You can view an account of the activities during 2007/8 by following the link below at the left.
XS Children's Youth Event
A small group of parents and excited children attended a wonderful event for children in the Minster. The theatre and music performed, with enthusiastic audience participation, was wonderfully led by a Scottish group called fischy music, who are enormously talented.
Our group enjoyed going into Narnia through a real wardrobe (and down into the crypt), as well as drumming workshops, art, craft and dance activities, and a wonderful puppet show. The intrepid volunteers from Christian Aid and the Mothers Union were there again, and the stewards and workshop leaders were wonderful. Some very tired children went home with a lovely generous party bag to end a great evening. (photograph: Martyn Weaver)
